The Safe Sippy™ stainless steel drink cup was created in response to the growing body of emerging scientific evidence about the dangers of toxic chemicals used to make many plastics.  Stainless steel was chosen because it is clean, stable and durable.  Because stainless steel is stable and inert, it does not interact with the foods and fluids it comes into contact with.   So what you put in is what you get out.

Contact between water and plastic to a minimum, and all Safe Sippy plastics are certified free of Bisphenol A, phthalates and DEHA. Safe Sippy pays for extensive independent laboratory testing on the cups to make sure they are free of these chemicals. Lastly, the cap is made out of Polypropylene, #5 plastic. PP is the most stable of all plastics.

Features:

• The Spout - has a no-leak valve inside the spout is made of clean, non-toxic silicone. When children suck on The Safe Sippy spout, liquid flows, when they don't it doesn't.
• The Lid - is designed slightly wider than the cup. If your child drops The Safe Sippy, that lip will help protect the stainless steel bottle from denting. The inner sleeve is made of #5 plastic and is completely free of Bisphenol A and phthalates.
• The Waist - the waist is tapered and has a ribbing on the sleeve. Both features help little hands hold the cup once your child insists they are too big for handles.
• The Body - the Safe Sippy body is the most important element of the cup. Made of durable and lightweight medical grade stainless steel, the 11 oz. Safe Sippy bottle is non-leaching and toxin free. The Safe Sippy is dishwasher safe.
• The Handles - the handles help little hands hang onto the cup. Once your child is big enough to grip the bottle using the tapered waist, the handles are removable.
• The Sleeve - that rubbery sleeve surrounding the cup is made of thermo plasticized rubber. This rubber provides insulation when you put cold liquids into the cup on hot days and makes the cup easier to grasp.
